- 5 mg of cholesterol
- 390 mg of sodium
- 30 grams of total carbohydrates
- 6 grams of protein
I think it’s safe to say that the Keto Diet is out of the question with this snack!
Although the pizza roll’s nutritional facts aren’t awe-inspiring, they’re still an okay choice when you compare it to a highly marketed breakfast sandwich like, for example, the Jimmy Dean Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Biscuit!
The Jimmy Dean Breakfast Sandwich has 310 calories, 19g of total fat, 100mg of cholesterol, and 26g of total carbohydrates.
Although neither of these is a solid, healthy breakfast choice, as always, it’s all about perspective!

I will use Cap’n Crunch as the example cereal since it is one of the more popular cereal brands.
It tends to be one of the lesser health-centric cereals and is definitely one of the most delicious.
Let’s examine the popular Cap’n Crunch cereal’s nutrition facts:
- 150 calories per serving (serving size 1 cup)
- 2 grams of total fat
- 0 mg of cholesterol
- 290 mg of sodium
- 33 grams of total carbohydrates
- 2 grams of protein
Additionally, the Cap’n Crunch nutrient label contained several other nutrients that aren’t found in pizza rolls!
This specific cereal contains the following nutrients that the pizza rolls did not:
- 0.3 mg thiamin (25% of daily value)
- 0.3 mg riboflavin (25% of daily value)
- 4.8 mg of niacin (30% of daily value)
- 0.4 mg of vitamin B6 (25% of daily value)
- 200 mg of folate FDE (50% of daily value)
- 134 mcg of folic acid
As you can see, cereals have plenty of other beneficial nutrients that the pizza rolls can’t offer.
Based on these facts, it can be stated that cereals are far healthier than pizza rolls and will give you a more balanced breakfast.
Are Pizza Rolls Better Than Bread?
What comes to mind when you think of bread? Is it carbohydrates? The belief that carbohydrates are terrible for us is somewhat misleading, as our bodies need carbs for energy.
Bread tends to have fewer additional nutrients while having a higher level of carbs when compared to other high-carb foods like whole grains or fruits.
For a comparative example, let’s use Thomas Sesame Seed Bagels, an incredibly popular breakfast bread.
Here are the nutrition facts for this bagel brand:
- 270 calories per serving (serving size 1 bagel)
- 2.5 mg total fat
- 0 mg of cholesterol
- 440 mg of sodium
- 52 grams of total carbohydrates
- 9 grams of protein
Based on these facts, we can conclude that bagels are not an excellent breakfast food alternative compared to pizza rolls based on nutrient facts alone.
The sesame bagels contain 50 more calories, 60 mg more sodium, and 22 more grams of carbohydrates!
The only category that surpassed the pizza rolls was the protein, by a measly 6 grams.
On the contrary, if you compare the nutritional value of pizza rolls to that of ordinary toast bread, things look a little different.
Many people enjoy a few slices of toast for breakfast, and compared to many other breakfast alternatives, toast bread is actually relatively healthy.
For the sake of argument, let’s assume that most of us eat 2 slices of toast for breakfast. That makes for a fair average, wouldn’t you say?
The nutrition facts for two slices of toast are as follows:
- 128 calories per serving (serving size 2 slices)
- 1.8 grams of total fat
- 0.4 mg of cholesterol
- 236 mg of sodium
- 24 grams of total carbohydrates
- 4 grams of protein
Additionally, two slices of toast bread also contain a little calcium (4% of daily value) and iron (8.2% of daily value).
As you can see, except for protein, the toast’s nutrition facts beat those of pizza rolls fairly substantially.
But then again, breakfast, and food in general, isn’t just about nutrition! It’s so much more than that!
And if enjoyed in moderation, who’s to say what to eat and what not to, right?
What Is the Best Time of Day to Eat Pizza Rolls?
Any time of the day is a great time to eat pizza rolls!
Pizza rolls aren’t inferior to highly marketed breakfast foods, but anything can be a breakfast food as long as you eat it early enough.
Pizza rolls can be your breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
Whatever time of day you choose to consume them is totally up to you!
Although I can’t imagine pizza rolls would pair very nicely with a morning cup of coffee. But maybe that’s just me.
However, be mindful of how many pizza rolls you take in!
Too much of anything is never a good thing, no matter how good it tastes. Your health should always come first!
